What is the shielding fabric, and how is it integrated?

The inner envelope combines a conductive silver-coated, Swiss Shield–style shielding weave with the insect mesh. It is separate from the outer 20D ripstop shell: the shell provides the weather-facing layer, while the inner hybrid textile provides the published shielding and bug-barrier functions in one sleeping envelope.

Which frequency bands are measured?

The published prototype ranges cover cellular at 700 MHz–3.8 GHz with 38–24 dB, Wi-Fi at 2.4/5 GHz with 24–20 dB, Bluetooth at 2.4 GHz at about 22 dB, and GPS/GNSS at 1.1–1.6 GHz at about 26 dB.

What do the dB figures mean?

A dB figure describes attenuation measured against a defined frequency or band; it is not a universal percentage of signal blocked. These are prototype/lab measurement figures, and each production unit should be accompanied by a per-band report before performance is treated as final.

Why aren't attenuation figures health claims?

Accepted Answer

Measurable RF attenuation describes a physical textile result, not a medical outcome. It is not evidence that the canopy prevents illness, improves health, or makes a medical-safety guarantee, and Nullhaven does not make those claims.

How does ventilation trade off against attenuation?

Accepted Answer

The conductive inner layer and the outer shell coexist with four mesh windows plus top-and-side venting. That layout is intended to preserve airflow while keeping the envelope integrated, but no enclosed shelter can promise zero heat, humidity, or CO₂ buildup. Site conditions, weather, and how fully the canopy is closed still matter.

Does the canopy protect against mosquitoes?

The product currently publishes a 1200-hole polyester mesh and an EN 13561 mosquito-barrier claim. The sleeping envelope needs to be zipped closed for that barrier to work as intended; an open canopy should not be treated as insect-proof.

How is the setup suspended?

Accepted Answer

It uses one suspension point with a four-stake/ridgeline setup and takes approximately 30 seconds to put up under suitable conditions. You still need a suitable anchor and a clear sleeping footprint of about 200 × 90 cm; the setup claim does not remove those site requirements.

How small and light is it to pack and carry?

The current prototype/specification copy lists approximately 640 g packed and about 22 × 14 × 14 cm when stowed. That is positioned for a 30 L backpack or carry-on, but those figures are not a guarantee for every production unit.
